Crafts artist Dunblane

I live in a Little village on the outskirts of Inverness called Clachnaharry In the Scottish highlands. Originally from Glasgow I moved to the highlands around eleven years ago . I fell in love with the beauty of wild open spaces and the rugged coastlines.

I ran a successful bed & breakfast for 10 years , painting when time allowed and having my artwork made into greeting cards , then I discovered ceramics , went along to a local class and quickly became addicted to paint as many as I could , and selling them to the tourists , along with my cards at the b&b, My work was going to places all around the world.

This gave me a great buzz, but I was becoming more frustrated , not having enough time to paint , with all the work that running the b&b entailed.

We moved to a sweet little cottage were I now have my own studio, with more time to dedicate to my painting, I am now producing more work and experimenting and creating new work, and exhibiting at local galleries . I also have gallery space at Riverside Retreat Inverness .

Many things inspire me to paint , travel, and the different colors I see around me day to day. The beauty of nature. And my rag doll cat maisie appears in my digital drawings I sell as cards.

My seaside designs that I paint on bowls mugs ect , came from a trip to oban when I walked up to the monument overlooking the bay below , and it reminded me of a basin. With all the little houses around a basin of water , the bay. These have been my biggest seller.

I am greatly influenced by the famous ceramic painter Clarice Cliff. Like her I have many designs and more to come to fruitation. I will paint on any surface I can find , and love to make little crafty things too.

My work is available to buy or I can work to commission. At my studio at 7 high st clachnarry. Or email dylans.fraser@gmail.com I am open most of the year. My work is also stocked at Riverside Gallery Inverness. Iolaire gift shop Nairn. And Judith Glue Inverness. Beauly Gallery.
